Vintage Blue Sequins

I found this gorgeous turquoise sequined dress back in New York at a thrift store (Beacon’s Closet) and couldn’t leave it behind! Despite not necessarily having any use for a sequined dress at the time, I figured it could always come in handy for New Year’s Eve, if nothing else. I know, I know, “sequins for New Year’s Eve…groundbreaking,” in my best Miranda Priestly in “The Devil Wears Prada” voice. But in my opinion, there is really no bad time to wear sequins and conversely, no better time than at the start of the New Year. However, during my trip to Europe this sparkly number didn’t quite last that long.

As soon as I was finally able to buy a new Nikon, I decided to take it for a spin (the dress, that is, though it also applies to the camera in this case) when I went out to test my new D5300. I went with a local photographer to Sa Palomera, a huge rock on the beach where you can find some of the best views in Blanes, and had a fun time shining amidst the sea.

Here are some of my favorite images below, plus you can shop sequined styles that I’ve picked out (all under $100!) for your own New Year’s Eve (or post-New Year) look. My favorite is this wrap, maxi number from ASOS but then they also have a fitted and sleek maxi style here with a cut-out back for a bit more va-va voom. If you want something along the same color range as my dress, try this style from BooHoo which also just happens to be on sale for $18 (down from $62!). Plenty more styles below after the images. xx
