Tranoi NY FW ’15

Emerging designers are the underlying pulse of the fashion industry. The “underground” community of hungry designers brings a refreshing new wave of design aesthetics and undiscovered “it” brands. We all know, love and respect the major labels, Prada, Chanel and Celine are some of my personal favorites, but they too were once just budding names breaking in with the desire for their collections to move, and dress, the world. Tranoi NY, an international fashion trade show, provides a platform for brands within the emerging design community to make a name for themselves.

Today’s fashion culture makes barriers of entry low meaning it is just as easy for new labels to spring up as it is for them to go. Utilizing a respected platform such as Tranoi helps emerging brands develop a level of distinction and gain access to buyers, journalists and consumers via a two-day fashion frenzy of pop-up boutiques showcasing the newest ideas and pieces from these labels. This year, the trade show, based in Paris, debuted in NYC to display FW ’15 collections of participants. With dozens of designers present, the NY show was not only a display of fall trends and quality product, but a real-life glimpse at the creative community consistently pushing for their dreams by way of dresses and the like.
