Oh, fashion week. It’s come and gone again. New York Fashion Week, at least. And how exciting it was to see that my street style had been featured in several publications. My first flick of the week was none other than British Vogue. It’s my first full-on credit — I had a small side snap in American Vogue last season — but this time around the photographer, Garcon Jon, came up and asked if he could capture me. If you’re reading this Jonathan, thank you :).

Little did I know until after the shots were finished is that he takes photos for Vogue UK. Super cool! Later on in the week, I ended up getting a few more nods for my street style. Big thanks to Essence (shot by Hannan Saleh), Man Repeller (shot by Simon Chetrit) and The Cut (shot by Rob Berry for BFA) for including me in your round-ups.

If you’re wondering, yes the skirt that I’m wearing in the Man Repeller shot is the same one from Akira which I wore to fashion week last season (which landed me on Fashionista). What can I say – I love a good pencil skirt. I decided for a little print-on-print action, leopard-on-leopard to be specific. My Melody Ehsani x Reebok Leopard Princess sneakers finally got taken for a spin, along with an MWR leather bag.

As for the party look, it was the last day of fashion week and I wanted to have a fun street style look but comfort is always first. Hence how I landed on a Canadian tuxedo with a bright red lip and Modern Vice boots. According to The Cut, it was the “Best Jean on Jean,” of the night. I’ll take it! I mean, it’s not everyday you’re alongside the likes of Jourdan Dunn and the Urban Bush Babes as one of the “Best-est Fashion Party Looks.” But maybe one day, it could be? 🙂
