Hoteling in Marrakech: Riad Jardin Secret

For anyone that follows me on Instagram (@niag – shameless plug) you know that during my time in Morocco I endlessly uploaded pictures of my riad in Marrakech, Riad Jardin Secret. I opted out of a traditional hotel or even a cheaper accommodation, such as a hostel as this riad came highly recommended. It was thanks to meeting a super cool, magazine editor, Kelley of Majestic Disorder, via Instagram (told you guys about that universal connecter of social media) that I heard about the spot.

Kelley put me in contact with the two owners, a sweet couple from Paris, and soon I was locked in for a room at this hip, stylish riad. When I made it there my first night, it was pretty late but the energy from the housekeeper and the couple was warm and welcoming. I went straight to my room to find red ceilings with ornate hand-painted details and a lavish chandelier, a cozy-looking double bed with plush white sheets, a reading area featuring a wooden chair and a fur throw draped across it with a Moroccan style area rug in front of it…the details go on and on but it is safe to say, I felt at home (or in a slightly more ‘goals’ version of it).

And this was just the bedroom! The riad featured gorgeous interior and exterior styling; Wrap-around couches greeted guests on either side of the hallway (which was square-shaped and featured railing to protect from the open view of downstairs and the terrace), palm trees and succulent plants flourished about and peaceful nooks and crannies awaited in every floor from the ground to the terrace. Half the time, I wished I could stay more at the riad and relax than brave the heat and hustle of the ‘red city.’
