Met Kawakubo: Art of the In-Between
I recently attended the press preview for the Met’s latest fashion exhibit, Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons, Art of the In-Between, a retrospective on the Japanese designer. Various sections throughout the exhibit broke down the different categories that Kawakubo’s designs have explored. Some of the sections include Life/Loss, Elite Culture/Popular Culture and Order/Chaos amongst others. The exhibit, minimal and beautifully set, speaks deeply to both design and social topics.
