Bermuda Lodging: The Oxford House

I kept up my annual birthday tradition of visiting a place (i.e. city/country) that I’ve never been. This time around, I knew I had to hit a beach. Which landed me on Bermuda’s beautiful pink shores where my stay at The Oxford House was comfortable, warm and authentic.

The historic bed and breakfast can be found in the central location of Hamilton — the go-to spot for many bars, restaurants and shops. It’s just around the corner from Front Street, Hamilton’s main street, which is nice because you’re close enough to get in on, or out of, the action when you want.

As soon as you enter the accommodation, you are greeted by a rustic entryway with a wooden spiral staircase. The owner and manager of the Bed and Breakfast greeted me right away and helped me get checked in and settled. As soon as I made my way to my room, the maid came to me and asked if I needed anything and was very genuine in her inquiry. I felt at home right away.

My favorite part about the hotel would probably be the many seating areas outdoors. I loved going outside in the mornings and basking in the sun while I had my complimentary breakfast. Some days, I looked forward to just coming back to the Oxford House and stretching out on the lawn chairs. It was the type of place that you are happy to come back to after a long day of exploring and adventures in a new city.
